DescriptionCopy of letter from William Hayter of New College Oxford to John Rothstein of Tate Gallery. Hayter writes that New College Oxford has reluctantly agreed to lend the Jacob Epstein sculpture of Lazarus for a Tate Gallery exhibition. Hayter states that they are reluctant due to the time that the sculpture was away at the Epstein exhibition in Edinburgh and state that they will lend it to the Tate but on the condition that it is returned to New College Chapel on the 21st of January 1961.
